Great Depression character narrative video
In this project, students will create a persona of an individual who may have lived during the Great Depression. They must research what life for that person would have been like, and create a video detailing what that person would write as a blog post or tell a friend regarding what happened to them during this time period. Students must include pictures to make the "flashback" seem real.
High School American History, covering Standard 20: The Great Depression was caused, in part, by the federal government’s monetary policies, stock market speculation, and increasing consumer debt. The role of the federal government expanded as a result of the Great Depression.

Web-based Multimedia Presentation
This project will allow my students to create a nonlinear based multimedia project. My students will learn Ohio Academic Content Standard 9:
The Reconstruction Era prompted Amendments 13 through 15 to address the aftermath of slavery and the Civil War, as well as ISTE.NETS Standard 2b: Communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media and formats. The multimedia project will be a Prezi that details what the 3 Civil War Amendments are, what they provided, and how they are applicable today.

"A Book In Time"
This website gives many resources both from the website itself and other websites regarding a plethora of historical topics. Students will play the different games and go on virtual 3-D tours that bring historical concepts, ideas, and events to life. Students will gain a firsthand knowledge of what it was like to live in these different eras, such as what a soldier in a WWI trench may have experienced, or what the closet of a teenager growing up at the turn of the 20th century would look like.

Word Clouds
Word clouds would help my students brainstorm ideas or thoughts that they already know regarding the topic to help get their creative juices flowing and determine what is left to learn. I have created a Lincoln word cloud to help students understand the Civil War and Reconstruction Era, as well as the events surrounding President Lincoln that built up to this era.. This relates to American Government Content Standard 9: The Reconstruction Era prompted Amendments 13 through 15 to address the aftermath of slavery and the Civil War.
Concept Map
By creating a concept map, students must research what each amendment means, give two visuals with explanation of how they relate to the amendment, and find a news article that talks about or debates that amendment. This will prompt students to think about how these amendments relate to everyday life and how to apply the amendment's "political jargon" to an easy-to-understand photo and sentence.

Digital Video
This video is a sample that my students can refer to when working on their Great Depression perspective videos. Mine details how a wealthy woman's life gets flipped around when her husband loses his wealth and job in the stock market crash of 1929. In this project, my students will achieve understanding of American History academic standard 20, which states: The Great Depression was caused, in part, by the federal government’s monetary policies, stock market speculation, and increasing consumer debt. The role of the federal government expanded as a result of the Great Depression. They will also utilize the following ISTE standards: 1. Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. 2.Apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products, or processes 3. Communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media and formats.
